How to Make Ores Glow Brighter or Dimmer (Adjust the Visual Effect)

Understanding What You Can Change

This pack is a resource pack, not a mod, so it does not add sliders or config screens. The glow is baked into the textures and models it ships with. That means "adjusting" the effect means swapping in a different version of the pack or editing the files yourself. Before you touch anything, note that the glow is purely visual — it never lights up caves, never helps you see in the dark, and never changes how ores generate or drop.

Swapping or Editing the Effect

1. If the pack author offers multiple brightness variants, keep only one enabled at a time in your resource pack list, since two copies will conflict.

2. To soften the effect yourself, open the pack folder and locate the ore textures under the block textures directory.

3. Duplicate the pack, rename it so you can tell it apart, and edit the outline pixels to be less saturated or thinner.

4. Re-zip the folder if your loader expects a zipped pack, then re-enable it and reload resources with the in-game reload key.

5. If the glow looks too strong at night, remember it is emissive-looking only — turning down your brightness or gamma settings changes how prominent it appears.

Keep a backup of the original pack so you can revert if your edits look wrong.
