Stylish Effects Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Stylish Effects config screen?
Open the mod list from the main menu or pause screen, find Stylish Effects, and click its config button. You can also reach the settings through the Mod Menu integration if you have it installed.
How do I change the effect display style on the HUD?
Open the Stylish Effects config and pick a widget mode for the HUD slot. You can choose the fancy new display, the vanilla-style display, or none at all, and the change applies immediately.
Can I use a different display style in the inventory than on the HUD?
Yes, the HUD and inventory widget modes are configured separately. Set each one to whatever style you prefer, including mixing vanilla-style in one place and the new compact style in the other.
How do I turn off the effect display entirely?
Set the widget mode for the HUD or inventory to none in the config. This hides the display in that location without disabling the effects themselves.
How do I see effect timers and amplifier levels?
The new fancy widget shows both a timer and the current amplifier by default. If you switched to the vanilla-style widget, switch back to the fancy mode to get timers and amplifier levels back.
Why do my effects show up inside chests and furnaces now?
Stylish Effects extends the compact inventory effect display to every container screen, not just the player inventory. If you don't want this, change the container or inventory widget mode in the config.
How do I move the effect display so it doesn't overlap my HUD?
Use the position and offset options in the config to shift the display to a different screen side or corner. You can also resize it so it takes up less space when many effects are active.
My effects overlap each other when I have a lot active — how do I fix that?
Switch to the compact widget mode, which fits many more effects before they start overlapping. You can also shrink the display size or reposition it in the config.
Does Stylish Effects work with other HUD mods?
It generally coexists with other HUD mods, but overlapping elements can happen if both draw in the same spot. Reposition or resize the effect display in the config to avoid collisions.
Will this mod hurt my performance with lots of effects active?
The display is lightweight and only redraws when effects change, so performance impact is minimal even with many effects. If you notice issues, try a simpler widget mode or disable the container display.
