Fixing Nicknames That Do Not Show in Chat or the Player List

Chat vs. Player List Display

Nickname display is controlled by separate options: one for chat and one for the player list. If your nickname appears in chat but not in the tab list, the list option is likely disabled or another mod is overriding the tab list. The mod's own documentation warns that list display can conflict with other mods that manage player list entries. Test by temporarily removing or disabling the conflicting mod, or accept chat-only display.

If the nickname appears in neither place, confirm the command actually succeeded. A rejected command — due to length limits, disabled formatting tags, or missing permission — leaves your old name in place with no visible change.

Formatting Not Rendering

When tags show up as literal text instead of colors, the formatting type is probably disabled in the configuration, or you are using a tag name the mod does not recognize. Check the enabled formatting tags in the config file and compare them against what you typed. If old-style codes like &c are not working, that compatibility option is turned off. Finally, verify the default prefix — if it was changed from #, your tags must use the new prefix or they will be treated as plain text.
