Keeping Iron Golems from Ruining Your Crops
The Problem Iron Golems Cause
Iron Golems patrol villages and often path straight through crop fields. In vanilla, their footsteps convert farmland back to dirt, destroying planted crops. Stronger Farmland Mod removes this behavior specifically for hydrated farmland, so your village farm survives golem traffic.
Steps to a Golem-Safe Farm
1. Build your farm with a reliable water source in the center or along one edge so every tilled block becomes hydrated.
2. Plant your crops after tilling — hydrated farmland holds both the moisture and the trample protection.
3. Let the golem roam. You do not need to fence it out or trap it, as long as the farmland stays wet.
4. If you expand the farm later, till and hydrate the new rows before letting villagers or golems near them.
Combining with Village Layouts
Place your water channel where it will not be blocked by paths or buildings. A golem walking over a hydrated field is now harmless, but a dry field beside it is not. Keep irrigation continuous across the whole plot so there are no unprotected gaps where a golem could still stomp crops into dirt.
