Navigate Waterfalls and Rapids Safely

Understanding River Hazards

As rivers flow downhill, they create waterfalls and rapids that can damage you or destroy your boat. These form naturally where the terrain drops steeply, and they're part of the mod's realistic water behavior.

Traversing Waterfalls

If you're in a boat, dismount before reaching a waterfall. Boats cannot survive the fall safely. Walk down the side of the waterfall using the terrain, or build a temporary staircase of blocks to descend safely. Once at the bottom, place a new boat to continue downstream.

Managing Rapids

Rapids are fast-flowing sections that won't destroy your boat but move unpredictably. Stay in your boat and hold on—the current will carry you through. Avoid jumping out mid-rapid as the flowing water will push you around.

Planning Ahead

Before committing to a river journey, scout the route on foot first. Look for major drops and plan dismount points. If you're carrying valuable items, consider making multiple trips or using alternative routes around dangerous sections.
