How to Change the Stray Spawn Chance in the Config

The whole point of this mod is that you decide how common strays are. Everything is controlled by a single value, so tuning it takes less than a minute once you know where to look.

Finding and Editing the Config File

1. Launch Minecraft once with the mod installed so the config file is generated.

2. Close the game completely.

3. Open your instance folder and go into the config directory.

4. Open the mod's config file with any plain text editor.

5. Locate the entry named chanceSkeletonIsStray.

6. Change the number after the equals sign to whatever you want.

7. Save the file and relaunch the game.

Choosing a Value

The value is a probability between 0 and 1. Setting it to 0 means every skeleton stays a normal skeleton, while setting it to 1 means every skeleton that spawns becomes a stray. Anything in between gives you a mix, so a low value like a quarter of skeletons is a subtle change, while a high value makes strays the norm. The default sits somewhere in the middle, which is a good starting point if you are unsure.

If you run a server, edit the same file on the server side, since spawning is decided there. Clients do not need matching values for this to work.
