How to Set Up a Base Inside a Stoneholm Village

Underground villages make excellent bases because they are already lit, enclosed, and connected. The trick is claiming space without wrecking the settlement.

Choosing a spot

Pick a room or dead-end corridor away from villager workstations and beds so you do not break their job site blocks or sleeping spots. Abandoned sections are ideal — they are already part of the village structure but no villagers rely on them. Avoid blocking the main galleries, since Iron Golems patrol those and villagers path through them.

Securing your base

1. Wall off your chosen room with a door so villagers can still pass if needed, or seal it fully if you want privacy.

2. Light every corner to stop mobs spawning in unlit tunnels nearby.

3. Place your bed, storage, and crafting stations inside; the surrounding halls give you free expansion room.

4. Keep a marked route to the surface or to a cave exit so you are not trapped.

5. Do not remove Iron Golems — they defend the whole village, including your base.

Because the village is underground, you avoid surface mobs at night, but you still need to watch for creepers and other hostile mobs that spawn in dark side tunnels.
