How to Capture and Move Villagers from a Stoneholm Village

Underground villages are one of the easiest places to capture villagers because they are already contained in tunnels. You can move them to a surface base or keep them underground.

Preparing the capture

Bring doors, blocks, a boat or minecart, and plenty of torches. Identify a villager you want and note its job site block — breaking it may change its profession, so leave it if you want to keep the trade.

Moving them step by step

1. Build a temporary corridor of blocks and doors leading from the villager toward your destination.

2. Use a boat on flat ground or a minecart on rails to push the villager along; villagers path toward beds and workstations, so place a bed at the destination to lure them.

3. Seal side passages as you go so the villager cannot wander into other halls.

4. Keep the route lit to prevent mobs from killing your villager mid-transport.

5. At the destination, give the villager a bed and a job site block so it stays put and resumes trading.

Iron Golems may become hostile if you attack villagers, so never hit them during transport. If a golem follows you, break line of sight and let it return to patrol.
