Sticky Enchanting Lapis Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get the lapis to stay in the enchanting table?
Just place lapis lazuli into the enchanting table's lapis slot as you normally would. With the mod installed, the lapis is no longer consumed when you enchant an item, so it stays in the slot for your next enchantment.
Why is my lapis not being used up when I enchant?
That's the entire point of the mod. The lapis remains in the table after each enchantment instead of being consumed, so you can enchant repeatedly without refilling the slot.
How do I take the lapis out of the enchanting table?
Shift-click the lapis slot or manually pick the lapis up from the slot like any other inventory item. The mod only stops automatic consumption, it doesn't lock the lapis in place.
Does this mod work in vanilla Minecraft or only modded?
It works in both vanilla and modded setups. It's a standalone tweak to the enchanting table's behavior, so it doesn't require other mods to function.
Will the lapis stay if I break the enchanting table?
Breaking the table drops the lapis along with the table itself, so you won't lose it. Just remember to pick everything up before it despawns.
Does this mod work with bookshelves and higher enchantment levels?
Yes. Bookshelves still boost your available enchantment levels as usual, and the lapis you place stays put regardless of which level you pick. You can keep enchanting at high levels without re-adding lapis each time.
Can I enchant multiple items in a row without touching the lapis?
Yes, that's the main convenience. Place your lapis once, then enchant item after item as long as the lapis remains in the slot.
Does the mod change how much lapis each enchantment costs?
No, the lapis requirement per enchantment is unchanged. The mod only changes whether that lapis is consumed after the enchantment completes.
Is this mod compatible with other enchanting mods?
It generally works alongside mods that don't overhaul the enchanting table's lapis handling. If another mod replaces the enchanting table's behavior entirely, conflicts are possible, so test in a backup world first.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
No, it's a lightweight tweak that only changes lapis consumption logic. It shouldn't have any noticeable impact on performance, even on low-end systems.
