Steel Pulse Transit Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need any other mods besides MTR to use Steel Pulse Transit?
You need Minecraft Transit Railway Mod installed as the base requirement. Steel Pulse Transit is a resource pack that adds train models to MTR, so it won't work without MTR already set up in your world.
How do I spawn a train from this pack?
Use the MTR train spawning system to place train vehicles on your tracks—the Steel Pulse models will appear as options when you create new train lines. You'll select the specific locomotive or car type from the available Steel Pulse stock.
Can I mix different train types on the same line?
Yes, MTR allows you to combine different locomotives and cars from Steel Pulse on a single route, so you can attach a commuter car behind a high-speed unit or mix regional and express stock as needed.
What are the JCM PIDS scripts and how do I use them?
JCM PIDS scripts customize the passenger information displays shown at stations. The pack includes pre-made scripts you can apply to your station signs to show realistic arrival/departure info and announcements.
Why can't I see the train interiors?
The 3D driver cabs and interior views only appear when you're inside the train or viewing from the correct camera angle. Make sure you're using a compatible Minecraft version and that the resource pack is properly loaded in your world.
Are the steam locomotives slower than electric trains?
Train speed is controlled by MTR's track settings and route configuration, not the model itself—a steam locomotive can run at the same speed as an electric train if you set it up that way on your tracks.
How do I build a city tram network?
Use the tram and DC train models from Steel Pulse on street-level or elevated tracks, then configure shorter station distances and slower speeds in MTR to create an urban transit feel. See the guide 'Building a City Tram Network' for step-by-step setup.
Do these trains work with custom track textures?
Steel Pulse trains are designed for standard MTR tracks and should work with most track resource packs, but custom track textures may look mismatched if they don't follow MTR's standard appearance.
Can I use Steel Pulse trains in multiplayer servers?
Yes, as long as all players have the Steel Pulse resource pack installed on their client, they'll see the custom trains. The server only needs MTR installed.
Why do my trains look blocky or low-detail?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack list and set above any conflicting packs. If you're on lower graphics settings, some 3D details may not render—try switching to higher render distance or graphics quality.
