Do I need Epic Knights mod installed for this resource pack to work?
Yes, Steel Crown Heritage requires at least one Epic Knights mod (Shields, Armor and Weapons; Slavic Armory; or the base Addon) to be installed, since the pack retextures their equipment. The pack also updates vanilla Minecraft armor and weapons, so some textures will apply even without Epic Knights, but you'll miss most of the content.
Why do my swords and armor look different than the screenshots?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled and ranked above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list. If you're using other texture packs, Steel Crown Heritage needs to be loaded after them to override their textures. Check that your Epic Knights mod version matches the pack's supported versions.
Can I use this with Epic Fight mod?
Yes, Steel Crown Heritage includes updated textures for Epic Fight weapons so they match the medieval knight aesthetic. Both mods can run together without conflicts.
What's the difference between the sword types in this pack?
The pack includes single-handed swords (faster, lighter), greatswords (slower, more damage), katanas (curved blades with unique styling), and polearms like spears (reach-based weapons). Each has distinct historical textures that match their combat role.
Do the shields actually have different textures or just the armor?
Shields have completely custom textures with heraldic designs and historical patterns. Each shield from Epic Knights: Shields, Armor and Weapons gets its own detailed look.
Will this pack work with Slavic Armory but not the main Epic Knights mod?
Yes, Slavic Armory is a standalone Epic Knights product, so Steel Crown Heritage will retexture its equipment independently. You don't need the base Epic Knights mod if you only have Slavic Armory installed.
How do I display armor and weapons like in the screenshots?
Use armor stands (craft with sticks and a smooth stone slab) and place them in your world, then equip them with the textured armor and weapons. For polearms and shields, place them on stands or in item frames to showcase them.
Does this pack change mob armor or just player equipment?
