Enhancing Water and Block Reflections
Find Reflection Settings
In the Shader Options menu, look for reflection or water-specific controls. Steadfast Shaders typically groups these together for easy tweaking.
Enable and Adjust Reflections
Toggle reflections on if they're disabled. You should see:
- Reflection strength: Controls how mirror-like water and shiny blocks appear. Higher values create more obvious reflections of sky and terrain.
- Reflection distance: Determines how far the shader looks to create reflections. Shorter distances help performance.
Target Reflective Blocks
Reflections work best on water, wet blocks, and naturally shiny surfaces. Walk near water during different times of day—reflections are most dramatic when the sun is high or low in the sky.
Fine-Tune for Your System
Reflections can be demanding. If performance drops, reduce reflection distance before lowering strength. Test in various lighting conditions to ensure reflections look natural rather than overly exaggerated or washed out.
