Standart Kart Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get a racing kart instead of a regular boat?
Craft or find any wooden boat as you normally would—the resource pack automatically transforms it into a kart based on its wood type. No renaming or special steps needed; the kart appears instantly when you place or ride the boat.
Why can't I see the 3D kart models?
The pack requires OptiFine to render the custom 3D models and animations. Install OptiFine and enable it, then the karts will display with their detailed designs, spinning wheels, and moving parts.
Which wood type gives me which kart character?
Acacia = Mario/Bowser, Birch = Luigi/Waluigi, Dark Oak = Peach/Daisy, Jungle = Donkey Kong/Barrel, Oak = custom E kart/Golden kart, and Spruce = Yoshi/Rosalina.
How do I switch between different kart designs for the same wood type?
Each wood type has two kart variants, and the pack alternates between them—craft multiple boats of the same wood type and they'll cycle through the available designs.
Does the propeller appear automatically when I drive on water?
Yes, a spinning propeller spawns on the back of your kart whenever you enter water, and it disappears automatically when you drive back onto solid ground or ice.
Can other players see my kart in multiplayer?
Yes, the pack works in multiplayer worlds without any setup—all players with the resource pack installed will see each other's custom karts and their animations.
Will my kart work on ice?
Yes, karts drive on ice just like regular boats, and the propeller stays hidden while you're on solid surfaces including ice tracks.
Do I need to rename boats at an anvil to get different karts?
No, item renaming is not required. Simply craft boats from different wood types and the resource pack automatically transforms each one into its corresponding kart style.
What animated parts can I see on the karts?
The karts feature spinning wheels, a turning steering wheel that responds to your input, and working rear brakes, plus the propeller animation when on water.
Do I need a mod installed or just the resource pack?
You only need the resource pack itself—it's a client-side resource pack that works with vanilla Minecraft boats, so no mods are required beyond OptiFine for the 3D rendering.
