Stackable Enchants Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything to activate the data pack or does it work automatically?
The data pack works automatically once loaded into your world—no configuration needed. Just make sure it's enabled in your world settings and you'll be able to stack enchantments right away.
Can I put Blast Protection, Fire Protection, and Projectile Protection on the same armor piece?
Yes, that's the main feature of this data pack. You can combine all three protection types on a single chestplate, helmet, leggings, or boots using an anvil or enchanting table.
What happens if I use Infinity and Mending together on a bow?
Infinity will prevent arrows from being consumed when shot, while Mending will repair the bow when you pick up experience orbs. Both effects work simultaneously, giving you infinite arrows and self-repairing gear.
Can I put bow enchantments like Power or Flame on a crossbow?
Yes, this data pack adds cross-enchantability so you can apply bow-exclusive enchantments to crossbows and vice versa. Use an anvil to combine them if the enchanting table won't allow it.
Will stacking protections make me completely immune to damage?
No, stacked protections reduce damage more effectively but don't eliminate it entirely. Multiple protection enchantments have diminishing returns, so you'll still take damage from sufficiently powerful sources.
Does this data pack work in multiplayer or only single-player?
It works in both multiplayer and single-player. All players on the server will have access to stacked enchantments as long as the data pack is enabled on the world.
Can I use this data pack with other enchantment mods or data packs?
Compatibility depends on what other mods or data packs you're using. If they modify the same enchantment rules, conflicts may occur—test them together to be sure.
Do I need to start a new world or can I add this to an existing one?
You can add this data pack to an existing world at any time. Just load it into your world's data packs folder and enable it—your current gear won't change, but you can enchant new items with stacked effects.
What if an enchantment pair still won't combine in the anvil?
Make sure the data pack is actually enabled by checking your world settings. If it's enabled and still not working, try using the enchanting table instead, or check that you're combining compatible enchantments listed in the mod's features.
Does this affect enchantment costs or repair costs in the anvil?
The data pack only removes mutual exclusivity between enchantments—it doesn't change anvil costs or experience requirements. Combining multiple enchantments will still cost experience as normal.
