How do I make a sprout hat?
Rename a Carved Pumpkin to "Sprout" using an anvil, then place it in your helmet slot. The hat will only display if you have Optifine or CITResewn installed and enabled.
Why isn't my sprout hat showing up?
Make sure you have either Optifine or CITResewn installed and active in your mod loader. Without one of these mods, the custom model won't render even if you've renamed the pumpkin correctly.
Do I need Optifine or CITResewn, or both?
You only need one of them—either Optifine or CITResewn will work. Both mods support custom item models, so pick whichever you prefer.
Can I wear a sprout hat and other armor at the same time?
No, the sprout hat occupies your helmet slot, so you can't wear a helmet or other head armor simultaneously. You'll need to choose between protection and looking like a plant.
How do I put a sprout hat on an armor stand or mob?
Equip the renamed Carved Pumpkin on an armor stand by placing it in the head slot, or use commands to equip it on mobs. The sprout model will display the same way as when you wear it.
Does the sprout hat protect me like a real helmet?
No, the Carved Pumpkin provides no armor protection whether it's renamed or not. It's purely cosmetic.
Can I rename multiple pumpkins to make different hat styles?
This resource pack only changes the appearance of items renamed to "Sprout," so all renamed pumpkins will look identical. There's only one sprout hat design included.
Will the sprout hat work in multiplayer?
Yes, but other players will only see your sprout hat if they also have this resource pack installed. Without it, they'll see a regular Carved Pumpkin on your head.
Does this mod work with shader packs?
Yes, the sprout hat should work fine with most shader packs since it's just a resource pack modification. If you experience issues, try disabling shaders temporarily to confirm they're the cause.
What happens if I drop a sprout hat and pick it back up?
The pumpkin keeps its "Sprout" name and will display as a sprout hat when you pick it up and equip it again. The name persists on the item.
