Spider Pig Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do spider pigs still attack me the same way?
Yes, spider pigs behave identically to regular spiders—they still jump at you, deal the same damage, and climb walls. The only difference is their appearance; the pig model replaces the spider model visually.
Will spider pigs work in my mob farm?
Yes, spider pigs spawn and function normally in mob farms since their behavior is unchanged. You can still use them for experience and loot farming as you would with regular spiders.
Do I need to install this on the server too?
No, Spider Pig Mod is client-side only, so you only need it installed on your game client. Other players on the server will still see regular spiders unless they also install the mod.
What loot do spider pigs drop?
Spider pigs drop the exact same loot as regular spiders, including string and spider eyes. The mod only changes how they look, not what they drop.
Can I see spider pigs in mob spawners?
Yes, spider pigs appear as pigs inside mob spawners, so you'll see a pig model spinning in the spawner cage instead of a spider.
Does this mod affect cave spiders too?
Yes, both regular spiders and cave spiders are replaced with pig models. Cave spiders will still poison you and behave the same way, just with a pig's appearance.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Spider Pig Mod is lightweight and client-side, so it should have minimal impact on performance. The mod simply swaps one model for another without adding complex calculations.
Does the mod work with other mods that change mob textures?
Spider Pig Mod should work alongside most texture and model mods, but conflicts can occur if multiple mods try to modify spider models. Test your mod combination in a test world if you're unsure.
Can I turn spider pigs back into spiders?
You can disable the mod by removing it from your mods folder, which will restore regular spider models. There is no in-game toggle to switch between spiders and pigs.
Do spider pigs still climb walls and ceilings?
Yes, spider pigs retain all spider climbing behavior—they move on vertical surfaces exactly as spiders do, so the pig model will climb walls and ceilings normally.
