Spawnside Hearth Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why didn't a starter house spawn when I created my world?
The mod only generates a house at the world spawn point for brand new worlds. If you're loading an existing world that was created before installing the mod, no house will appear. You'll need to create a fresh world to see the starter shelter.
Can I move or delete the starter house?
Yes, the starter house is built entirely from vanilla blocks, so you can break it down and rebuild it anywhere you want. Since it uses only standard Minecraft materials, removing it won't cause any issues even if you later uninstall the mod.
What happens if I lose the starter chest or its contents?
Check the guide 'Recover Your Starter Items If You Lost the Chest' for recovery options. Depending on your mod settings, you may be able to use a command or craft a replacement chest with the starter items.
Does the starter house work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, the initial spawn house works in multiplayer and all players can access the shared starter chest. If you enable village mode with `/beginnersdelight village enable`, each new player will get their own personal home instead.
How do I set up a village so new players get their own homes?
Run the command `/beginnersdelight village enable` on your server or world. After that, whenever a new player joins, the mod will automatically generate a home for them with connecting pathways and village decorations like wells and farms.
Can I customize what goes in the starter chest?
Yes, you can customize the starter items and house layout through the mod's configuration file. Use `/beginnersdelight config reload` after making changes to apply them without restarting your world—see the 'Customize Your Starter House Layout and Contents' guide for details.
Will the starter house stay if I remove the mod later?
Yes, because the mod uses only vanilla blocks, the house structure will remain in your world even after you uninstall it. You'll just lose the ability to generate new homes or villages for future worlds.
Does this mod conflict with other building or structure mods?
The mod should work alongside most other mods since it only affects the world spawn point at world creation. However, if another mod also generates structures at spawn, you may see overlapping buildings—check your mod configuration to adjust spawn behavior if needed.
How does the mod choose which starter house design to build?
The mod randomly selects from several different house layouts each time a new world is created, so you'll get a unique starter shelter every time. The design adapts to fit the terrain height and shape at your spawn location.
Can I use this mod on a realm or realm-like server?
Yes, the mod works in multiplayer environments including realm-style servers. Village mode can be enabled to give each joining player their own home, making it ideal for community servers where multiple players start at different times.
