Locate Spawners in Your World

Spawners naturally generate in specific structures. Search dungeons (common in caves), mineshafts, strongholds, and nether fortresses. Each location type spawns different mob types—skeleton spawners in dungeons, blazes in fortresses.

Decide Which Spawners to Break

Consider mob farm potential. If a spawner could power a mob grinder, leaving it intact might yield more resources long-term than a single loot drop. However, if you're redesigning your farm or the spawner is inconveniently placed, breaking it for treasure is worthwhile.

Evaluate the mob type. Spawners for useful mobs (spiders for string, skeletons for bones) might be better preserved. Spawners for less useful mobs are prime candidates for breaking.

Check accessibility. Spawners deep in caves or dangerous structures may not be worth the trip unless you're already exploring that area.

Mark Spawners

Use markers or waypoints to remember spawner locations. This lets you decide later whether to break them or build around them, giving you flexibility as your base evolves.
