Set Up a Spawner to Require Player Proximity

Configure Proximity Requirements

Spawners can be set to only activate when players are nearby, useful for preventing mob farms from running while you're away.

1. Open your mod's configuration file (usually in the config folder)

2. Locate the spawner proximity settings

3. Enable the proximity requirement option

4. Set your desired activation radius — this is the distance a player must be within for the spawner to function

5. Save and reload your world

Testing Your Setup

Once configured, approach a spawner and watch for mobs to spawn. Walk away beyond your set radius and spawning should stop. This is especially helpful if you want spawners to only work when you're actively using a farm, reducing server lag and preventing unintended mob buildup in other areas.
