Spawner Control Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where do I find the config file for this mod?
The configuration file is located in your mod's config folder (usually `config/spawncontrol` or similar depending on your mod loader). Open it with a text editor to adjust spawner parameters.
Can I make spawners only work when players are nearby?
Yes, the mod lets you set a player proximity requirement in the config file. Spawners will only activate when a player is within the specified distance.
How do I stop spawners from dropping experience?
Set the experience drop option to `false` or `disabled` in the configuration file. This prevents mobs spawned by the spawner from giving experience when killed.
My server is lagging because of too many mobs around spawners. What do I do?
Use the maximum nearby entity limit setting to cap how many mobs can exist around each spawner at once. You can also reduce the spawn count per tick to lower the rate mobs appear.
Can I change how many mobs spawn each tick?
Yes, the entity count per tick setting controls this. Lower values mean fewer mobs spawn at once, which helps with performance.
What's the difference between spawn delay and spawn range?
Spawn delay controls how long the spawner waits between spawn attempts, while spawn range determines how far from the spawner block mobs can actually appear.
Do these settings affect naturally spawned mobs or only spawner mobs?
This mod only affects mobs spawned by monster spawner blocks. Natural mob spawning in the world is not changed.
Can I set different rules for different spawner types?
The mod applies settings globally to all spawners, though you may be able to create separate configuration profiles depending on the mod's features.
Will this mod work with other spawner-related mods?
Compatibility depends on how other mods interact with spawner mechanics. Test with your specific mod combination, as conflicts are possible if multiple mods modify the same spawner behavior.
I changed the config but the spawner didn't update. What's wrong?
You likely need to reload the world or restart the game for config changes to take effect. Some settings may require breaking and replacing the spawner block to apply.
