How to Put a Sophisticated Storage Barrel or Chest on a Create Train or Contraption
Placing the Storage Block
Build your Create contraption first, then place the Sophisticated Storage block (barrel, chest, or shulker box) directly onto the contraption's structure. The block must be attached to the moving assembly — either on the train car, the bearing-driven platform, or the flying machine frame. Once placed, the block becomes part of the contraption and will move with it.
Confirming It Works in Motion
Assemble the contraption (via the train station, bearing, or piston-based assembly as normal). When the contraption starts moving, open the storage block. Your items, upgrades, and settings should all still be there — nothing is dropped or reset. If the block was already filled before assembly, it keeps its contents through the transition.
Common Pitfalls
- The block must be on the contraption before or during assembly; placing it on a static block that later moves will not carry it.
- If the block refuses to move, check that it is actually part of the assembled structure and not adjacent to a non-moving block.
- Shulker boxes behave the same as barrels and chests here — all three are supported.
Once moving, you can still interact with the block: open it, insert items via hoppers or funnels, and apply upgrades while the contraption is in motion.
