How to Apply Upgrades to Sophisticated Storage on a Moving Create Contraption

Right-Click the Upgrade Onto the Block

With the storage block already on a moving contraption, hold the upgrade item and right-click directly onto the block. This works the same as on a stationary block — the upgrade is consumed and applied. Supported upgrades include Pickup, Magnet, and crafting upgrades, among others.

Applying Tier Upgrades While Moving

Tier upgrades (which increase capacity) are applied by right-clicking the block with the tier upgrade item. You can do this even while the contraption is traveling — you do not need to stop the train or disassemble the platform. The capacity increase takes effect immediately.

Managing Settings on the Move

Use the Storage Tool on the moving block to manage locks and visual settings. Right-click with the tool to cycle or toggle the relevant options, just as you would on a static block. The Paintbrush also works on moving storage blocks — right-click to change color and material.

What to Watch For

• Make sure you are actually targeting the storage block and not an adjacent contraption part; misclicks will not apply the upgrade.
• Upgrades persist through movement, so you only need to apply them once.
• If an upgrade does not seem to apply, try again after the contraption has fully assembled — some interactions are easier to land once the structure is settled.
