Optimize Performance While Keeping Visual Quality
Identify Performance-Heavy Features
Access shader settings and look for options labeled Quality, Performance, or individual toggles for:
- Reflection quality and resolution
- Shadow detail and distance
- Ambient occlusion
- Water wave complexity
Make Strategic Reductions
Start by lowering reflection resolution or disabling reflections in distant chunks. Reduce shadow render distance or quality if frame rate drops significantly. Disable or minimize fog density if it causes lag—fog rendering can be computationally expensive.
Test and Balance
Make one change at a time and check your FPS. The goal is finding the sweet spot where the shader still looks magical without causing stuttering. You can often reduce resolution or distance settings without losing the fantasy aesthetic. Keep handheld glow and basic lighting intact—these features have minimal performance impact but define Solis Blend's character.
