Solis Blend Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Open your Options menu, go to Video Settings, then select Shaders. Find Solis Blend in the list and click it to activate. You'll see the changes take effect immediately in your world.
Why does my water look weird or too reflective?
Water reflection intensity can be adjusted in the shader settings menu. If reflections are too strong or too weak, look for water-related sliders in the shader options and tune them to your preference.
The fog is too thick and I can't see anything. How do I fix it?
Access the shader settings and find the fog density or atmosphere control options. Lower the fog value to improve visibility while keeping the spooky atmosphere you want.
My torches and handheld items don't glow. What's wrong?
Make sure you're holding the item in your hand (not just in your inventory) and that handheld light is enabled in the shader settings. Some items like torches, lanterns, and glowstone naturally glow brighter with this shader.
Does this shader work with other mods?
Solis Blend works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a test world first to check compatibility.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this. How do I improve performance?
Lower the shadow quality, reduce water reflection detail, or disable advanced lighting features in the shader settings. You can also lower your render distance to balance visuals with frame rate.
Can I use this shader on servers or multiplayer worlds?
Shaders are client-side only, so you can use Solis Blend on any server or multiplayer world without needing server permission. Other players won't see your shader effects unless they install it too.
Why do caves look too dark or too bright?
The shader changes how torchlight and ambient light work underground. Adjust the handheld light intensity or ambient lighting sliders in the shader settings to make caves more or less bright.
Does the spooky fog affect my ability to find things or navigate?
Yes, thicker fog reduces visibility, which can make navigation harder. You can lower fog density in the settings, or use torches and handheld lights to cut through the mist more effectively.
What's the difference between this shader and vanilla Minecraft lighting?
Solis Blend adds realistic sun and moon shadows, reflective water surfaces, glowing handheld items, and atmospheric fog—all creating a more immersive, fantasy-like appearance compared to vanilla's flat lighting.
