Adjust Water Reflections and Transparency

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader settings key (usually found in your controls menu). Look for the Water or Reflections category in the settings panel.

Customize Water Appearance

You'll find sliders controlling:

  • Water clarity: Adjust how transparent or opaque water appears
  • Reflection strength: Control how much the sky and surrounding blocks mirror in the water surface
  • Wave intensity: Modify the ripple and wave effects on water

Try reducing reflection strength if performance drops near large bodies of water, or increase it for a more mirror-like ocean effect.

Test Your Changes

Walk to a river or ocean and observe the changes in real-time. Water should respond immediately to your adjustments. If reflections look too intense or washed out, fine-tune the values until the effect matches your preference. Remember to apply or save your settings before closing the menu.
