Enhance Block Detail and Depth Perception
Enable Normal Mapping (if available)
In shader settings, look for Normal Mapping or Surface Detail. Enabling this feature adds subtle texture and dimension to block surfaces without changing their appearance dramatically. This makes blocks feel more three-dimensional and helps with depth perception while building.
Increase Ambient Occlusion Strength
Find the Ambient Occlusion intensity or strength slider. Increasing this value darkens the crevices and corners of blocks, creating sharper definition and making structures appear more detailed and tactile.
Adjust Parallax or Depth Settings
Some versions include Parallax Occlusion or similar depth-enhancing options. Enabling or increasing these settings adds perceived depth to block surfaces, making your builds feel more substantial.
Use Directional Lighting to Your Advantage
SoftShade's soft lighting still respects block orientation. Build with awareness of how light falls on surfaces—place blocks to create natural shadows that enhance depth. Combine this with the shader's settings to maximize visual impact without harsh glare.
