How to Check Your Biome and World Day Without Opening the Debug Screen

Constantly pressing the debug key to check where you are or what day it is breaks immersion. The Sodium Extra Information overlay gives you both at a glance.

Finding Your Biome

Look at the biome readout on the overlay. It updates as you move, so you can walk a few blocks and watch it change to confirm you have crossed a biome border. This is especially useful when hunting for specific biomes for resource gathering or base placement, since you no longer need to open any menu — just keep an eye on the corner of the screen while you travel.

Tracking World Time in Days

The world time line shows elapsed in-game days rather than a raw tick count, which is far easier to reason about. Use it to plan around day/night cycles: if you know nightfall is approaching, the day counter plus your local time readout helps you decide whether to push on or shelter. It is also handy on servers where you want to know how long the world has been running since you last logged in.

Practical Exploration Tips

Combine the biome line with your coordinates from the vanilla debug screen when you actually need to record a location. For casual play, the overlay alone is enough to know whether you have wandered into a new region. If the biome text is hard to read against bright terrain, adjust the overlay's position or background in the mod settings.
