How to Stop Another Resource Pack From Overriding Your Animated Torches

Why torches revert to vanilla

Resource packs stack. When two packs edit the same texture, the one higher in the list wins. If you run a big all-in-one pack alongside Snod Animated Torches, that pack's static torch texture can silently replace your animated flame.

Fixing the load order

1. Open Options, then Resource Packs.

2. Find Snod Animated Torches in the Selected list on the right.

3. Drag it above any pack that also touches torch, redstone torch, or soul torch textures. The topmost pack has the final say.

4. Click Done and let the game reload textures.

5. Place a torch and watch the flame to confirm the animation is back.

If it still will not animate

Some packs bundle torches inside a larger archive, so you cannot see the conflict by name. Test by temporarily disabling other packs one at a time, reloading after each, until the flame animates. Once you find the culprit, either keep it below Snod or drop it. Note that packs which change the torch model rather than just the texture can also interfere, since the animation lives on the texture itself. Keeping Snod on top resolves the vast majority of these clashes without touching any gameplay settings.
