How do I know the animated torches pack is actually working?
Place a torch in a dark area and watch the flame closely — if it flickers and moves smoothly instead of staying a static image, the pack is active. If the flame looks frozen, another resource pack is likely loading above it in your pack list.
Why do my torches still look static after installing the pack?
A resource pack higher in your list is probably overriding the torch textures. Move the animated torches pack above other packs that touch torch or flame textures, then reload your resources.
Do animated torches change how much light they give off?
No, this pack is purely visual. Light levels, mob spawning, and all other mechanics stay exactly the same as vanilla.
Do soul torches and redstone torches get animated too?
Yes, the pack covers standard torches, redstone torches, and soul torches, each with its own animated flame. The torch handle also gets a spruce-style wood texture.
Will this pack hurt my FPS?
The animation is lightweight since it only affects torch textures, so most players see little to no performance impact. If you're on a very low-end machine, check your FPS after enabling it and disable other heavy packs first.
Can I use this with shaders?
Yes, the pack works alongside shaders since it only changes textures. If flames look odd with a shader, try adjusting your shader's torch or flame settings, or load the pack above the shader's resource components.
Which pack order should I use with other texture packs?
Put the animated torches pack above any pack that also edits torch textures, so its animated flames win. Packs that don't touch torches can go anywhere without conflict.
Does it work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side, so you'll see animated torches on any server as long as the server doesn't force its own pack over yours. Other players won't see the animation unless they also have the pack.
How do I turn the animation off without removing the pack?
You can't toggle the animation inside the pack itself — it's either on or off. To disable it, just move the pack below another torch-editing pack or remove it from your active resource packs.
Why does the torch handle look different now?
