How to Make Your Torches Look Animated (and Confirm the Pack Is Working)
What this pack actually changes
Snod Animated Torches is a resource pack, not a mod. That means it does not add blocks or items — it swaps the torch textures for animated ones. Standard torches, redstone torches, and soul torches all get smooth, looping flame frames, and the wooden handle is redrawn with a spruce-style grain. Because it is texture-only, nothing about light level, crafting, or placement changes.
Steps to see the animation
1. Place a few torches on a wall in a dark area so the flame is easy to read against the background.
2. Stand still and watch the flame for a few seconds. Animated textures cycle through frames; if the pack is active you will see the flame flicker and shift rather than sit as a static image.
3. Check all three variants side by side: a normal torch, a redstone torch, and a soul torch. Each has its own animated flame, so if one looks static, the pack may be loading only partially.
4. If nothing animates, open your resource pack list and confirm Snod Animated Torches sits above any other pack that also edits torch textures. Packs lower in the list get overridden.
5. Still static? Another pack is likely winning the conflict. Move Snod to the top and reload.
Why the handle matters
Look closely at the stick. The spruce-style wood texture is the easiest way to tell this pack loaded, even in bright rooms where the flame is hard to judge.
