How to Stop Campfire Smoke Particles in Minecraft (Smoke Suppression Mod)
Understanding How Suppression Works
Smoke Suppression Mod checks the block directly beneath a campfire. If that block appears in the mod's configured list, the campfire stops emitting smoke particles entirely. This applies to both regular campfires and soul campfires, and it works on the client side, so you do not need it installed on a server for it to take effect in single-player or on your own client.
Placing the Right Block Underneath
1. Break the block currently under your campfire, or plan your build so the campfire sits on top of a suppressing block.
2. Place one of the default suppressing blocks directly below the campfire. By default this includes hoppers and the various rail types (rail, powered rail, activator rail, detector rail).
3. Put the campfire on top of that block. As soon as the campfire is above a listed block, the smoke particles disappear.
4. If smoke still appears, double-check that the block is directly beneath the campfire and not offset to the side.
This is the fastest fix for farms where dozens of campfires create a wall of smoke that hurts visibility and framerate. Because suppression is based on the block below, you can hide the suppressing block inside your build so the farm still looks clean.
