How to Add Custom Blocks to the Smoke Suppression List

Editing the Config File

Smoke Suppression Mod reads its list of suppressing blocks from a JSON config file located at config/smoke_suppression.json in your Minecraft instance folder. To add your own blocks:

1. Close Minecraft so the config is not overwritten while running.

2. Open config/smoke_suppression.json in a plain text editor.

3. Find the list of block IDs (the default entries look like minecraft:hopper and minecraft:rail).

4. Add your own block IDs to the list, using the full namespace:block_name format, for example minecraft:stone or minecraft:oak_planks. Keep the JSON syntax valid — commas between entries, quotes around each ID.

5. Save the file and relaunch the game.

Using Mod Menu Instead

If you have Cloth Config and Mod Menu installed, you can edit the same list through an in-game screen instead of touching the file. Open Mod Menu, select Smoke Suppression, and edit the block list there. Changes apply the next time the affected campfire is checked. This is handy for testing blocks quickly without restarting. Remember that only the block directly under the campfire matters, so add the exact block you plan to build with.
