How to Add Other Blocks to the Blast Furnace Smelting List
Editing the Config In-Game
This mod lets you expand what a blast furnace can smelt beyond just sand. Open the mod's configuration screen from the in-game mods menu (usually accessible from the main menu or pause screen). Look for the smelting list section. You will see entries mapping an input block to its output. Add a new entry by specifying the input item's registry name and the resulting output item's registry name.
Editing the JSON File Directly
If you prefer editing files, close Minecraft first. Navigate to your profile folder and locate blastingsand.json. Open it in a plain text editor. The file contains a list of input-to-output pairs. Add a new pair following the same format as the existing sand-to-glass entry — for example, an input identifier and an output identifier separated according to the file's existing structure. Save the file, then relaunch the game.
Verifying Your Changes
After launching, place the new input item into a blast furnace and confirm it smelts into the output you specified. If it does not work, re-open the config and check for typos in the registry names — an incorrect identifier will silently fail. Remember that blast furnaces only accept recipes the mod has registered; vanilla blast furnace recipes like ores still work alongside your additions.
