Troubleshooting: Smelting Enchantment Not Working

Verify the Enchantment is Applied

Check your pickaxe's enchantments by hovering over it in your inventory. Look for the Smelting enchantment in the tooltip. If it's not listed, the enchantment wasn't successfully applied—return to an anvil and try again.

Check Ore Compatibility

Not all blocks respond to Smelting. The enchantment only works on ores that have a smelted variant. Standard ores like iron, gold, and copper will work, but some modded ores may not be compatible depending on how they're configured.

Confirm You're Mining Correctly

Ensure you're using the pickaxe as your mining tool. Mining with other tools won't trigger the enchantment. Also verify you're actually breaking ore blocks—Smelting only activates when mining ore, not when collecting drops from other sources.

Check Mod Conflicts

If Smelting still isn't functioning, other mods may be interfering. Try disabling recently added mods to isolate the issue, or consult your mod list for known incompatibilities.
