Smelt a Raw Ore Block into a Metal Block
Basic Smelting Process
Once you've collected nine raw ore pieces and combined them into a raw ore block, you can smelt it directly into its metal block equivalent using any furnace or blast furnace.
1. Open your furnace or blast furnace
2. Place the raw ore block in the top input slot
3. Add fuel (coal, charcoal, wood, etc.) to the fuel slot
4.
Smelting Time
Be aware that smelting a raw ore block takes significantly longer than smelting individual raw ore pieces—it requires nine times the fuel and time since you're processing nine ore units at once. Using a blast furnace will speed up the process compared to a regular furnace.
Output
When smelting completes, you'll receive one metal block (iron block, copper block, gold block, etc.) directly in the output slot. This saves you the step of smelting nine individual pieces and then crafting them together into a block.
