Smart Resource Multiplier Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the configuration menu?
Open the mod's configuration menu from your main settings or mod menu (exact location depends on your mod loader). The default global multiplier is set to 2x, which you can adjust immediately without restarting the game for most changes.
Why aren't my Fortune pickaxe drops being multiplied?
The mod multiplies the final drop result after Fortune calculates, so both effects stack together—your Fortune enchantment works first, then the multiplier applies to that total. If you're seeing no multiplication at all, check that the multiplier for that block type isn't set to 0x in the config.
Can I set different multipliers for ores versus logs?
Yes, the mod lets you assign specific multiplier values to different block categories like ores, logs, crops, and stone. You can also set custom multipliers for individual block IDs if you need even finer control.
How does the duplication protection work when I break my own blocks?
The mod tracks which blocks you placed yourself and applies duplication protection to those blocks—breaking and replacing them repeatedly won't multiply drops. This protection doesn't affect naturally generated blocks or blocks placed by other players.
Do mob farms get the same drop multiplier as manual kills?
No, mob drop multiplication is restricted to direct player kills by default to keep automatic mob farms balanced. You can adjust this setting in the config if you want farms to produce multiplied drops.
Can I use different multipliers in the Nether and End?
Yes, you can set custom drop rates for specific dimensions like the Nether and the End separately from the Overworld in the configuration menu.
Will high multipliers cause lag or performance issues?
The mod includes built-in safety limits to prevent massive item drops from causing game lag. If you're experiencing slowdowns, try lowering your multiplier values or checking if you're using extremely high settings like 64x.
Does Silk Touch work with the multiplier?
Yes, Silk Touch works naturally with the multiplier—the mod calculates the final drop (in this case, the intact block) and then multiplies that result, so you'll get multiple copies of the block.
Are my items in chests and furnaces protected from duplication?
Yes, the mod protects containers like chests, furnaces, and shulker boxes from duplicating inventory items, so items stored inside won't multiply when you interact with the container.
Does shearing sheep and other animals get multiplied?
Yes, the mod multiplies wool and other items from player shearing, but dispenser setups remain at standard rates to prevent automatic farms from becoming overpowered.
