How to Configure Smart Particles Mod for Maximum FPS

Understanding the Culling Options

Smart Particles Mod works out of the box, but you can squeeze out more performance by adjusting its culling aggressiveness. Open the mod's config screen from the Mods list in your client. You'll find sliders or toggles for particle distance, camera culling, and visibility checks.

Recommended Settings for Low-End PCs

If you're chasing every frame:

1. Lower the particle distance slider so only particles very close to you survive culling.

2. Enable Smart Camera Culling so anything outside your FOV is removed immediately.

3. Turn on line-of-sight culling so particles behind walls or blocks stop rendering.

4. Reduce the maximum particle count if your config exposes it, so dense effects like explosions or rain don't overwhelm your GPU.

Testing Your Changes

Load into a particle-heavy area — a Nether fortress, a rainstorm, or near a campfire with smoke. Use F3 to watch your FPS before and after. If visuals look too sparse, raise the distance slider slightly until you find a balance. Remember this is client-side, so changes apply instantly without restarting the game or affecting servers.
