Comparing Your Screen View Before and After Installing
Visual Differences You'll Notice
Small Items+ makes several immediate changes to your screen layout:
- Held items shrink: Your sword, pickaxe, or other tools take up roughly 30–40% less screen space (exact scale varies by item type).
- Clearer sightlines: The reduced item model frees up the center and right side of your screen, giving you a better view of the game world.
- Equipment remains unchanged: Your armor, hotbar, and HUD stay the same size.
- Texture quality preserved: Item textures and details remain sharp—only the model scale changes.
Testing the Difference
To evaluate the impact:
1. Equip a large two-handed tool like an axe or sword.
2. Look at how much screen space it occupies.
3. Disable the resource pack and compare.
4. Re-enable it to confirm the improvement.
Most players notice the biggest benefit during combat, where reduced item size makes tracking enemies significantly easier. Building and exploration also feel less cluttered. The change is subtle enough to preserve vanilla aesthetics but substantial enough to improve gameplay comfort.
