Small Items+ Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I enable Small Items+ after installing it?
Small Items+ is a resource pack, so select it in your Resource Packs menu in-game (Options > Resource Packs) and move it to the Active list. You may need to restart your world or reload resources (F3 + T on Java) to see the changes take effect.
Why can't I see my sword/pickaxe clearly when holding it?
The resource pack scales down all held items to reduce screen clutter. If a tool becomes too small to see comfortably, you can adjust your FOV (field of view) in video settings or move the resource pack lower in your load order to let other packs override it partially.
Does Small Items+ work with other resource packs?
Yes, but placement in your resource pack load order matters—packs higher in the list override those below. If Small Items+ conflicts with another pack's item textures, try reordering them or using only one item-focused pack at a time.
Will this mod affect my armor visibility or make me harder to see in multiplayer?
Small Items+ only changes how items appear in your own hand and hotbar; armor on your character model and other players' appearances remain unchanged, so visibility in multiplayer is unaffected.
Does Small Items+ change how items look in item frames or on the ground?
No, the resource pack only scales down held items and equipped tools. Items in frames, on the ground, or in GUIs display at their normal size.
Can I use Small Items+ with mods that add custom items?
Yes, as long as those mods use standard item models. Custom items from mods will also be scaled down by Small Items+, though heavily modified item models may look unusual.
Does this resource pack work on servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use Small Items+ on any server without the server needing to install or approve it.
Why do shields or large weapons still feel bulky even with Small Items+?
Some items are inherently large by design; Small Items+ scales them proportionally but cannot make them disappear. If visibility is still poor, try adjusting your hand position in video settings or using a third-person camera angle.
Does Small Items+ affect performance or cause lag?
No, resource packs have minimal performance impact since they only change textures and models, not game logic or rendering load.
How do I uninstall or disable Small Items+?
Go to Options > Resource Packs, find Small Items+ in the Active list, and move it back to the Inactive list, or delete the resource pack file entirely from your resourcepacks folder.
