Adjusting Item Scale for Different Activities

Understanding Scale Levels

Small Items+ Resource Pack reduces held item and equipment size across the board, but you may want different scales depending on what you're doing. The resource pack applies a uniform reduction to all held models, so your configuration options are limited to enabling or disabling the pack entirely.

Customizing Your Experience

If the default scale feels too small for detailed work like redstone contraptions or too large for combat visibility, consider these approaches:

  • For building precision: Disable the resource pack temporarily when placing blocks that require exact alignment, then re-enable it for general construction.
  • For combat: Keep the pack enabled—the reduced item size is designed specifically to improve sight lines during PvP and mob encounters.
  • For exploration: The smaller scale frees significant screen real estate, making it easier to spot terrain features and mobs at distance.

Since Small Items+ is a resource pack rather than a mod with config files, you cannot fine-tune individual scale percentages. Your choice is binary: use it or don't. Test both states during different activities to find your preference.
