Balance Difficulty for Mixed Skill Levels
Adjust Time Limits
If your group has both experienced and new players, modify the search time. Give hiders more time if seekers are finding everyone too quickly, or reduce it if hiders are never discovered. Aim for rounds where at least one or two hiders survive but the seeker still has a fair challenge.
Rotate Roles Frequently
Let everyone take turns as seeker, even if they're not the best at it. This keeps the game fun and gives newer players a chance to learn the map layout. Experienced players can offer tips without dominating every round.
Create Handicaps
For very skilled seekers, consider giving hiders a head start or allowing them to move once during the round. For struggling seekers, hiders might agree to make small sounds or stay in less complex hiding spots.
Play Multiple Rounds
One round rarely feels balanced. Play several in a row so players learn the map and adjust their strategies. By the third or fourth round, skill levels tend to even out naturally.
