Small Hide & Seek Map FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start a new Hide & Seek match?
Load the map and gather your players in the spawn area. Designate one player as the seeker and have everyone else find hiding spots before the round timer starts. The seeker will be confined to a waiting area until the hiding phase ends.
Can I change how long the hiding phase lasts?
Yes, most Hide & Seek maps include configurable timers for both the hiding and seeking phases. Check the map's settings or configuration options before starting the match to adjust round length to your group's preference.
What happens if the seeker finds everyone before time runs out?
The seeker wins the round immediately and the match ends. Start a new round with a different player as the seeker, or adjust the difficulty settings if seekers are winning too easily.
Are there out-of-bounds areas I shouldn't hide in?
Yes, the map has defined play boundaries to keep the game fair and prevent players from hiding in unreachable spots. Stick to the main building and designated areas shown during the match setup.
Can I use items or blocks to hide better?
The map typically restricts block placement and item use during active rounds to maintain fairness. You're limited to finding natural hiding spots already built into the environment.
How do I make the game harder for experienced players?
Reduce the hiding phase timer to force faster decisions, shorten the seeking phase to give hiders less time to stay hidden, or swap roles frequently so skilled players face tougher challenges.
Does this mod work with other mods installed?
The Hide & Seek map itself is generally compatible with most mods, but mods that add new blocks or change movement mechanics may affect hiding spots or gameplay balance. Test with your mod setup before playing with a group.
What's the best strategy for finding hiders quickly?
Search systematically by covering one area completely before moving to the next, listen for player sounds or movement, and check common hiding spots like behind objects and in dark corners first.
Can I play Hide & Seek solo or do I need multiple players?
The game is designed for groups of at least three or four players to be fun and fair. Playing with just one or two people removes the challenge and defeats the purpose of the party game.
Why can't I move during the hiding phase as the seeker?
The seeker is locked in place during the hiding phase to give other players a fair chance to find good spots without being hunted. Once the timer ends, the seeker is released to begin searching.
