Fixing Small Held Items Not Showing Up or Being Overridden

Check Pack Order First

Resource packs apply from the top of the Selected list downward, and the first pack that defines a given model file wins. If another pack also changes item models — for example a weapon overhaul or a 3D item pack — it can completely hide Small Held Items. Open Options → Resource Packs and drag Small Held Items to the very top of the Selected column. Click Done and re-enter the world.

Confirm the Pack Is Actually Loaded

A pack that fails to load silently does nothing. Look for a yellow warning next to the pack name in the resource pack screen; that usually means the pack was made for a different pack format than your game version. If you see that warning, the pack may still partially work, but item models are the most likely thing to break. Removing incompatible packs from the list and reloading with F3+T can help isolate the conflict.

Reload Without Restarting

You do not need to quit the game to test changes. Press F3+T in-world to reload all resource packs and textures. This is the fastest way to see whether reordering fixed the problem. If the items are still full-size after a reload with the pack on top and no warnings, the pack is likely not compatible with your current game version and no amount of reordering will help.

Test With a Clean Profile

Temporarily disable every other resource pack and enable only Small Held Items. If it works alone, add your other packs back one at a time to find the culprit.
