Small Held Items Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make my held items smaller?
Just enable the Small Held Items resource pack in your resource pack list; it changes held item models automatically with no settings to configure. If nothing changes, make sure it sits above any pack that also edits item models.
Does this pack shrink items in my inventory too?
No, it only affects the item model while it's held in your hand or shown in first person. Inventory, hotbar, and dropped item appearances stay at normal size.
Why are my items still normal size after enabling the pack?
Another resource pack loaded above it is overriding the same item models. Drag Small Held Items to the top of your pack list, or remove the conflicting pack.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but it must load above any pack that changes item models, since the topmost pack wins for each file. Packs that only change textures,
sounds, or GUI usually won't conflict.
sounds, or GUI usually won't conflict.Does this work in multiplayer or on servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side, so only you see the smaller items. Other players see whatever pack they have enabled, and the server doesn't need it installed.
Will this affect my combat reach or hitboxes?
No, it's purely visual. Item size, attack range, and hitboxes are unchanged, so gameplay behaves exactly the same as vanilla.
Does it work with modded items?
Only if the mod's items use standard vanilla item models. Items with custom or fully 3D models may keep their original size or look odd.
Can I make the items even smaller or bigger?
The pack uses a fixed scale, so there's no in-game slider. To change the size you'd need to edit the pack's model files yourself or find a variant with a different scale.
Will this hurt my FPS or performance?
No, it only swaps item model files and doesn't add rendering work. Performance should be identical to vanilla.
Does it change how items look in third person or in item frames?
It targets held item models, so first-person and hand rendering are the main focus.
Third-person and item frame displays may or may not change depending on the model used.
