How do I start cycling items after installing the mod?
Select any item in your hotbar, then press G to cycle forward or H to cycle backward through items in that hotbar slot's inventory column. You'll see a preview indicator next to your hotbar showing what item comes next.
What does 'same inventory column' mean?
Your inventory is arranged in a grid; each hotbar slot (1-9) corresponds to a vertical column above it in your inventory. Cycling swaps your selected hotbar item with other items stacked in that same column.
Can I use the mouse wheel to cycle instead of G and H?
Yes, hold Alt and scroll your mouse wheel up to cycle forward or down to cycle backward. You can rebind both the Alt key and the G/H keys in your mod settings if you prefer different controls.
What happens if a hotbar slot is empty?
You can still cycle that empty slot—the mod will pull the first item from that column into the hotbar, then continue cycling through other items in the column as you press the cycle key again.
Can I cycle by pressing the hotbar number key (1-9) multiple times?
Yes, this is one of the control options: press the same hotbar number key repeatedly to cycle through items in that slot's column without using G, H, or the mouse wheel.
Does the mod work with mods that add custom items?
Yes, Slot Cycler works with any item added by other mods—it cycles based on inventory position, not item type, so custom weapons, tools, and blocks cycle normally.
Why isn't cycling working when I press G or H?
Check that you have an item selected in your hotbar first, and verify the keys aren't bound to something else in your controls menu. If using a non-English keyboard layout, rebind the keys in the mod config.
Can I cycle multiple hotbar slots at once or set up automatic cycling?
No, you cycle one hotbar slot at a time by selecting it first. Cycling is always manual—you control when items swap by pressing your chosen cycle key.
Does Slot Cycler affect my FPS or cause lag?
The mod is lightweight and only processes cycling when you press a key, so it has minimal performance impact. If you experience issues, check for conflicts with other mods that modify inventory or hotbar behavior.
Can I use this mod on multiplayer servers?
