Understanding Slime Merging Mechanics and Limits

How Merging Works

When four slimes occupy the same confined space, they automatically merge into one larger slime. This is a passive mechanic—no crafting or special items required. The merge happens based on proximity and space constraints.

Size Progression

Each merge increases the resulting slime's size by one tier. A slime that results from merging will be noticeably larger than the four individual slimes that created it. This size increase affects both appearance and combat difficulty.

Preventing Unwanted Merges

If you want to keep slimes small, maintain separation. Use walls, doors, or distance to keep groups of slimes apart. Once four slimes merge, you cannot reverse the process—plan accordingly.

Maximum Size Limitation

Slimes cannot merge infinitely. There is a maximum size cap that prevents the mod from creating overpowered mobs. Once a slime reaches maximum size, it will not merge further, even if surrounded by other slimes. This balances gameplay and prevents exploitation.
