Building an Efficient Slime Farm with Merging
Farm Layout Strategy
Design your slime farm with multiple collection chambers rather than one large area. Create separate 3×3 or 4×4 enclosures connected by water channels or minecart tracks. This prevents accidental merges and lets you control which slimes combine.
Separation and Control
Use gates, trapdoors, or pistons to isolate slime groups. When you have four slimes in one chamber, close the gate to prevent additional slimes from entering and triggering unwanted merges. This gives you precise control over farm output.
Harvesting Strategy
Decide whether you want small slimes for drops or larger ones for challenge. If merging, allow four slimes to combine, then move the result to a separate holding area. If you prefer small slimes, harvest them before reaching four in any chamber.
Expansion Tips
Build your farm in a slime chunk for consistent spawning. Add multiple spawn platforms at different heights to maximize slime generation. Separate chambers mean you can experiment with different merge strategies without disrupting your entire operation.
