Skyboxify Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I add a skybox to my world with Skyboxify?
Skyboxify reads skyboxes from resource packs, so you need to place your skybox files in a resource pack and enable it in-game. Once the pack is active, the skybox is applied automatically without any extra config.
Where do the skybox files go in my resource pack?
Skyboxify uses the same folder layout as OptiFine, so your skybox textures and its config file go in the OptiFine skybox directory inside your resource pack's assets. If you already have an OptiFine sky pack, its existing structure works as-is.
Why isn't my skybox showing up in-game?
The most common causes are the resource pack not being enabled, the skybox files being in the wrong folder, or a typo in the skybox config file's texture references. Double-check the pack is active and that the file paths match the folder layout exactly.
Can I use my existing OptiFine sky pack with Skyboxify?
Yes, Skyboxify uses the OptiFine skybox file format, so existing OptiFine sky packs are compatible. Just enable the pack like any other resource pack and the skybox should render.
How do I layer two skyboxes so they show at the same time?
You define multiple skyboxes in the same config, and Skyboxify overlays them so they render together for a combined effect. Use blend modes to control how the layers mix, and order them so the intended layer appears on top.
What do the blend modes actually do?
Blend modes control how a skybox layer combines with what's already rendered behind it, letting you get effects like additive glow or a soft overlay. If a layer looks too strong or washes out the sky, try a different blend mode for that layer.
How do I make my skybox rotate?
Rotation is set in the skybox config using the rotation and speed options, so the skybox turns around the chosen axis over time. You can also set the axis so the rotation happens in the direction you want.
How do I make the skybox move across the sky instead of just spinning?
Skyboxify supports movement in addition to rotation, configured through the skybox's movement settings. Use movement when you want the skybox to drift across the sky rather than rotate in place.
My skybox rotates too fast or too slow — how do I fix it?
Adjust the rotation speed value in the skybox config; lower values slow the rotation and higher values speed it up. If it still feels off, check whether movement is also enabled, since both can affect how the sky appears to move.
Does Skyboxify hurt performance or work with shaders?
Skyboxify only changes how the sky is rendered, so its impact is usually small, but layering many skyboxes can add cost. Shader packs that render their own sky may override or conflict with Skyboxify's skybox, so test with your shader pack if the sky looks wrong.
