How to Get Amethyst in SkyBlock with Sky Void Additions

Build the Geode Frame

Amethyst geodes are normally impossible in a void world because they only generate inside the Overworld. Sky Void Additions lets you craft the conditions yourself. Start by placing a 2×2×2 cube of packed ice — that is eight packed ice blocks total. Then surround it with lava. The four lava blocks sitting on top of the cube must be source blocks; the lava on the sides and bottom can be flowing. Every exposed packed ice face needs to be touching lava, so don't leave any side dry.

Trigger and Harvest

Once the setup is correct, the packed ice converts into a budding amethyst block surrounded by amethyst blocks, mimicking a natural geode. Give it time — amethyst clusters will grow on the exposed faces just like in a real geode. Break the fully grown clusters with any pickaxe to collect amethyst shards. If you want to keep farming, leave the budding block in place; it regrows clusters indefinitely. You can also mine the amethyst blocks for building. If nothing happens, double-check that all four top lava blocks are still source blocks and that no packed ice face is exposed to air.

Practical Tips

Build this in a contained area so flowing lava doesn't spill into your base. Keep a bucket of water handy to clean up afterwards. Because the mechanic is toggleable, confirm it's enabled in the config menu before building.
