Sky Void Additions Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Sky Void Additions config menu?
Run /function skyvoid_additions:customize/update_config/open_menu. From there you can toggle each mechanic on or off individually.
Why isn't anything happening in my SkyBlock world with this data pack?
Most mechanics rely on structure bounding boxes being present in your map. Use a SkyBlock map or data pack that generates those bounding boxes, such as Standard SkyBlock, or the features won't trigger.
How do I make an amethyst geode in SkyBlock?
Surround a 2×2×2 cube of packed ice with lava. The four top lava blocks must be source blocks (the rest can be flowing), and every exposed packed ice side needs to touch lava.
How do I get a Nether portal in SkyBlock without obsidian?
With this data pack, portals spawned over the void generate as netherrack or nylium platforms instead of obsidian. Nylium portals additionally require netherrack, so make sure you have some on hand.
Can I turn off specific mechanics I don't want?
Yes. Open the config menu with /function skyvoid_additions:customize/update_config/open_menu and toggle each setting individually. Mechanics are enabled by default.
Are all items, mobs, and advancements actually obtainable in SkyBlock with this pack?
Yes, the data pack is designed to make all vanilla items, mobs, and advancements obtainable in SkyBlock. Some of them depend on structure bounding boxes being generated in your world.
Do I need a specific SkyBlock map for this data pack to work?
You need a map or data pack that generates structure bounding boxes, such as Standard SkyBlock. Without those bounding boxes, mechanics that rely on them won't function.
Why won't my lava and packed ice make a geode?
Check that the four top lava blocks are source blocks, not flowing, and that every exposed packed ice side is touching lava. If any side is uncovered or the top lava is flowing, the geode won't form.
Does this data pack work alongside other data packs or mods?
It's built to add vanilla-like mechanics on top of SkyBlock, so it generally coexists with map-generating data packs. If another pack also modifies portals or world generation, test them together to make sure they don't conflict.
Will this data pack cause lag on my SkyBlock server?
The mechanics are lightweight and only trigger on specific block interactions, so performance impact is minimal. If you notice lag, disable mechanics you aren't using through the config menu.
